“I am a recent college graduate just beginning my job search in a focused field of study; oceanography.  To say the least, job opportunities available in oceanography are limited and there is plenty of competition. I knew I would need to do more than apply on job boards to find the kind of job I wanted in my field and wasn’t sure how to get started.

That’s when Nancy came on board. To begin with, Nancy helped me pull together an amazing resume that would help me stand out above other applicants. Then, she taught me how to research companies, opportunities, and identify hiring managers in my field. With plenty of coaching and guidance, I was able to identify, contact and schedule interviews with potential hiring managers. Before any interviews, Nancy and I spent many hours practicing informational and job interviewing techniques until I felt comfortable and ready.

“Our daughter, Maddy, finished college this past June with a BS in Oceanography; so she picked a profession that was very focused, but limited the job opportunities.  Also, finding a job will be a lifelong journey for Maddy because she is likely to have many research positions during her career.  We wanted to make sure she had the tools, skills, and confidence to drive her job search today and into the future.

Maddy didn’t know where to start.  She needed a solid job search plan, help with improving her communication skills, tools to cultivate a network to search for possible positions, a process for guiding informational interviews and a compelling, well-formatted resume to back it all up.  Maddy also needed to build her confidence in learning how to communicate during a behavioral interview and to artfully negotiate with potential job opportunities.
